The 18 Shibashi Qigong Exercises (#123)

The ancient Chinese practice of Qigong is a practice of flowing graceful exercises that
is best described as poetry and meditation in motion. The 18 Shibashi Qigong
exercises, as taught by Master Wing Cheung, are one of the finest examples of the art
of Qigong. In this course we will try to capture something of Master Cheung’s simple,
beautiful style as we learn each of the 18 exercises.

Qigong consists of simple standing exercises that enhance flexibility, muscle tone, and
breathing, which together can produce a state of relaxation and sharpened awareness.
They can easily be adapted for all ages and for physical challenges.

Instructor: David Hamilton discovered Qigong by accident 16 years ago. He has been practicing and studying Qigong ever since. He began teaching for the Williamsburg Learning Tree in 2014 and since then has taught 9 Qigong classes.

The class will be offered in two 3-part sessions. Signup for one or both sessions, or
individual days.

Cost: $30.00 for the 3-part August session; $10.00 for an individual class
