If you’ve heard us talk about Ravelry – the most AWESOME website for knitting and crocheting patterns EVER – and you have no idea what we’re talking about, then this class is for you! THIS IS A BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE CLASS! Bring your own smartphone, iPhone, tablet or iPad to get a hands-on tutorial for this website. This 1-session class will introduce you to the basics of Ravelry and searching for patterns. You have two opportunities for this one-session class: 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 10. You can take as many sessions as you want! Each class is limited to 4 people.

Beginner's Baby Sweater

Do you want to learn the basics of making a sweater without all the sweat equity of a full-blown adult-sized sweater? OR do you have a cutie pie you just HAVE TO whip up a sweater for? If either is true, this is the perfect class for you! Lern the basics of a knitted top-down sweater construction with minimal seaming & a raglan sleeve--just mini-sized. **Notes for the Beginning Baby Sweater: You will be writing on your pattern. Please bring a copy if you don’t want to mark your original. You will need to confirm your gauge prior to class. Please purchase your yarn in advance of the class and knit a 4” by 4” swatch with the US 6 needles and bring to class. Use your gauge checker to confirm you are knitting at 5 ½ stitches per inch. If you need assistance with checking your gauge, please come by the shop.

Basics of Blocking

You’ve knitted your shawl or scarf, and your project looks funny after you have bound off. You need to now BLOCK your final project! Those gorgeous knit stitches aren’t going to come out perfect. Once finished, you have to tell those stitches where and how to sit. Yarnista & Owner Susan Dickerson will lead this 1‐session blocking basics held from  1 to 3 pm Wednesday, Oct. 18 OR 12 to 2 pm Saturday, Oct. 21. Susan will run you through different yarns, how each performs with blocking and with samples of before and after blocked items. Yarnista & Owner Susan Dickerson will lead this 1-session class about yarn weights, how to find a yarn to substitute in your pattern that will work and then how to measure that gauge to ensure the pattern will turn out correctly. This class will be held:

Basics of Blocking

You’ve knitted your shawl or scarf, and your project looks funny after you have bound off. You need to now BLOCK your final project! Those gorgeous knit stitches aren’t going to come out perfect. Once finished, you have to tell those stitches where and how to sit. Yarnista & Owner Susan Dickerson will lead this 1‐session blocking basics held from 1 to 3 pm Wednesday, Oct. 18 OR 12 to 2 pm Saturday, Oct. 21.. Susan will run you through different yarns, how each performs with blocking and with samples of before and after blocked items. The class will block one item during the class.
